Community Risk Manager
The Community Risk Manager application enables the public to explore fire incident data, event history, demographics, and risk profiles.
Community Risk Manager
The Community Risk Manager application is used to assess risk, plan risk reduction areas, manage non-emergency requests, and track risk reduction resources like alarms and batteries.
NOTICE: This Experience Builder application is only enabled for desktop access at this point in time. VDFP is pursuing medium- and small-device application optimization in the medium term.
Dashboard Instructions
Explore
This section can be used to view various risk metrics, including previous incident occurrences and national risk indices. Use the arrows in the layer list to expand the categories and turn on the data relevant to your analysis. Use the magnifying glass "search" tool in the upper right-hand layer of the map to search for a risk reduction area (i.e., town, county, city, parcel, census tract). Once you have selected your search area, you can view custom layers aligned with NFPA 1300, Standard on Community Risk Assessment and Community Risk Reduction Plan Development. NERIS Incident Data has a 60-day lag to account for incident data accuracy. Districts and stations allow you to search by VDFP's seven districts and across fire departments and station boundaries. Virginia Boundary Layers include upper and lower state legislative districts.

Register Today: New Virginia CRR Workshops
To support fire service community risk champions, we are hosting four in-person workshops throughout fall 2026 and winter 2027. The initiative is Virginia's first statewide Community Risk Assessment tool built on geospatial technology to help fire service stakeholders identify and prioritize local risks and support strategic investment decisions. Whether your department is building a Community Risk Reduction program, updating a strategic plan, or looking for new ways to leverage data to support operational and prevention initiatives, this workshop will provide practical tools and peer collaboration opportunities that can be put to work immediately.
Attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Explore Virginia's new statewide Community Risk Assessment Dashboard
- Learn how data and geospatial intelligence can support local decision-making
- Collaborate with fire service leaders from across the Commonwealth
- Receive guidance directly from VDFP and partner organizations
- Help shape the future of Community Risk Reduction efforts in Virginia
Community Risk Manager Support and Data Requests
VDFP is launching an ArcGIS Hub Site for community risk champions across Virginia's fire service and key partners to explore in greater depth and contribute to Virginia's risk assessment data and intelligence picture. More information to come on the application launch timeline.
